Special Lecture: Indonesia – A Rising Middle and Global Power?

02.06.2014

Is Indonesia a new star to watch? Can this huge and rising economy be an equal match to powers like India, China or Brazil? Will it confirm her one-time status of a regional power?

These are some of the questions addressed by Dr. Tomáš Petrů in his upcoming guest lecture. He also gives answers to questions like: Is Indonesia´s democracy feasible, given its corruption, money politics and the growing pressures of the largest Muslim population? What are Indonesia´s major contributions to the world, what hinders its greater impact to global affairs? Where is Asia´s third giant heading?

The lecture takes place on June 12, 4pm at the Seminarraum Ostasienwissenschaften 1 UniCampus Hof 5 2I-O1-05.
