Alejandra Cervantes Nieto, MA
News: Alejandra Cervantes Nieto serves as a lecturer at the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Vienna, where she is also pursuing her Ph.D. She holds a BA in International Relations from Universidad del Norte, Colombia, and an MA in East Asian Economy and Society from the University of Vienna.
In the realm of International Relations, Alejandra specializes in international cooperation and regionalism. Her Ph.D. research delves into the role of regional organizations in shaping Drug Policy strategies in East Asia. This research is underpinned by a meticulous qualitative analysis of international treaties, negotiation processes and relevant domestic legislation. Within the EcoS MA program, she imparts knowledge on a variety of subjects, from drug policy to regional responses to transnational crime in East Asia. Additionally, Alejandra has played a pivotal role in coordinating winter school programs and liaising with international academic partners at EcoS.Consultation hours: Thursdays 16:30 - 17:30, upon prior appointment by eMail only.
