Dan Gudgeon is a lecturer and post-doctoral researcher in East Asian Economy and Society (EcoS) in the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Vienna.
Dan received his Ph.D. from the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul. Before that he earned an MA in Peace & Security from Korea University and a BA from the Department of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford (UK).Dan's research interests include narrative in peace and conflict, ontological security, the role of sports in peacebuilding, and civil society groups as actors in peace processes. Dan has been published in both Korean and English language journals.Dan has over ten years experience operating peace education in South Korea and also participated regularly in international cooperation projects while working for South Korean inter-Korean cooperation NGO, the Korean Sharing Movement.
