Lessons Learned from 45 Years of Quaker Engagement with the DPRK
How do NGOs advocate to US lawmakers to reduce the impact of sanctions on humanitarian assistance to the DPRK? How can education shift perceptions & help protect humanitarian channels? And how does the intersection between advocacy, education, & engagement create potential for peacebuilding?
Engagement has consistently proven to be a cornerstone for changing perspectives and fostering understanding. By building mutual understanding through direct experience, we can transform narratives of conflict into narratives of peace. Join Jennifer Deibert for a guest lecture to reflect on lessons from the past and envision future possibilities to create the frameworks needed for lasting peace in East Asia.
Jennifer Deibert is committed to seeking peace across divides & currently serves as DPRK Program Director with the American Friends Service Committee based in California, USA.
