Writing Workshops – Schreibwerkstätten

11.03.2016

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) of the University of Vienna offers support to all students currently working on their master's theses.

The Schreibwerkstätten (Writing Workshops) will now be offered in English to non-German-speaking students and to students writing in English. The series of five consecutive workshops is aimed at guiding a group of 12 students through their academic writing process and providing them with strategies and methods for all stages of the process, from narrowing down their research question to final editing.

An “English for Academic Purposes” workshop will be offered to address the specifics of writing in English. It will be open to all students writing in English who have been to a writing workshop/Schreibwerkstatt (English or German).

Furthermore, you are cordially invited to attend the weekly „Schreibtreff“ (Writing Group) by Klara Dreo. It will allow you to expand on topics discussed in the workshops, receive constructive feedback and gain motivation for your writing project. Once you attended a Writing Workshop you may also book an individual counseling session.

The first writing workshop will take place on April 6th, 2016, 10:00-13:00 in the large seminar room at the CTL (Center for Teaching and Learning), Universitätsstraße 5, 1010 Vienna, 3rd floor.

Depending on the acceptance of this offer, the follow-up workshop will take place in May. The participation is possible under the following conditions:

  • You have – apart from the master´s thesis – finished your studies.
