Official Forms from EcoS

The following is a list of forms used by EcoS and the Department of East Asian Studies. Most of these procedures must be done personally and, in case the student cannot pick up or deliver the documents in person, they can send a family member or friend in place. For these ocassions, the person must bring a written power to procede on behalf of the student ["Vollmacht"]. EcoS Staff and the Department of East Asian Studies cannot request documents on behalf of the students.

 Recognition of Grades [Anerkennung]

The document must be filled and sent scanned to Ms. Stefanie Yu (stefanie.yu@univie.ac.at). The document must be picked up personally, with a previous appointment coordinated with Ms. Yu. The SSC will contact you per e-mail when the document is ready.

 Record of Examination [Prüfungspass]

In order to submit your Master Thesis and comply with the requirements to obtain your degree, you must have passed all the courses and examinations defined in EcoS Curriculum. The document that certifies this is the 'Record of Examination' [Prüfungspass], which has to be filled up bearing in mind the language the student chose to study. The student must fill the highlighted sections of the document and send as a word file to Ms. Stefanie Yu [stefanie.yu@univie.ac.at] per e-mail. Once the document is ready, the SSC will contact the student per e-mail and the document can be picked up in person at the Secretariat.

Incomplete documents cannot be processed. The revision of the Record of Examination [Prüfungspass] can take up to 8 weeks, so the student must request it with enough anticipation.

 Registration of Master Thesis

The following two forms are necessary in order to register a MA Thesis. The procedure must be done personally. In case this is not possible, the student can use a ‘Vollmacht’ and authorize someone else in his/her representation. The 'Ansuchen' form requires three signatures: Yours, your supervisor’s and the SPL’s- in that order. Once you have your supervisor’s signature, please deliver the form together with the ‘Regeln’ form and your exposé to the SSC of the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies.

Note: The SSC advises you to register your MA thesis six months before your planned date of graduation. It is strongly recommended that you have at least finished some work on the theoretical part before officially registering your topic.
