Support of students with disabilities at the University of Vienna

The University of Vienna is offering scholarships to financially support students with health conditions or impairments.

I. General Requirements for the Awarding of this Scholarship

  • Students with a disability pass (at least 50%)
  • Active and regular studies at the University of Vienna (for multiple active studies: specify one field of study)
  • Academic achievements from the requested field of study – at least 16 ECTS in the calendar year 2023 (conditional credits and those marked as "+/-" cannot be considered)

III. Awarding

  • Any potential awarding is a one-time payment (e.g., for the purpose of securing housing) of up to €1,000.00.
  • The award is made by the decision of the selection committee.
  • All applicants will be informed in writing (by e-mail) of the decision by the end of August 2024. We kindly ask for your understanding that, for administrative reasons, it is not possible to respond to telephone or written inquiries regarding the results before their announcement.
  • A maximum of 15 scholarships will be awarded. There is no legal claim to a scholarship.

 

IV. Application Deadline

  • The application period begins on Monday, May 6, 2024, and ends on Monday, June 3, 2024. Applications must be submitted exclusively by email to claudia.fritz-larott@univie.ac.at within this period.
  • Incomplete applications or applications missing documents will not be considered.

 

V. Miscellaneous

  • For the performances, the date indicated in the collective certificate under the requested field of study and for recognition decrees, the date of the decree applies.

 

VI. Selection Criteria

  • Academic achievements – Number of ECTS and average grade (weighted average grade to two decimal places) of the performances achieved in the calendar year 2023
  • Degree of disability according to the disability pass
  • Need

 

VII. Selection Procedure

  • The ranking of submissions is in accordance with the criteria mentioned in point VI.
  • The decision on the awarding is made by the selection committee, consisting of the Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching ao. Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Christa Schnabl, the Study Dean Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Peter Lieberzeit, and the Study Program Director for Law Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Christian Koller.
