Upcoming VU in Summer 2024: Strategic Gaming - The South China Sea Dispute

Diplomacy, negotiations, conflict. The M4 course Strategic Gaming offers a hands-on experience.

In the summer term 2024, the EcoS lecturers Alfred Gerstl and Martin Mandl will convene the course Strategic Gaming: The South China Sea Dispute (VU, 4 ECTS). Students will take on the role of diplomats, representing ASEAN, China, Vietnam, Japan, the United States and other countries. The aim is to resolve current conflicts in bi- and multilateral negotiations. In the winter term 2023/24, our in total 60 student-diplomats did an excellent job in resolving some of them, however, since then new tensions emerged.

 

There will be two introduction sessions (14 and 21 March) and two Game Days (11 and 12 May). Attendance of all four days is mandatory. See more information on:
